Getting to the doctor from home or work may soon be much easier thanks to a new partnership announced in a press release shared with BTCManager on July 9, 2019, between Uber Health and Solve.care.

Catering to the Immobile

There are many problems today with access to affordable care, of which transportation is well known. The combination of a sizeable immobile population and patients using medicines that read “do not operate motor vehicles while taking this medicine” on the label makes current solutions both dangerous and impractical.

Solve.care, blockchain-based health services startup, is hoping to resolve these issues. In March 2019, they signed a partnership with ridesharing service Lyft to provide transportation to doctors right from the app.

On July 9, 2019, Solve.care has announced a second partnership with Uber. By providing reliable transportation included with medical coverage, patients can now enjoy convenient access to medical care despite a lack of autonomy.

Solve.Care is an Estonia-based startup that utilizes blockchain technology to create a platform for the healthcare sector. Pradeep Goel, CEO of Solve.Care said:

“By offering access to this, [we] expect to improve the results of clinical delivery, and reduce overall healthcare costs for everyone.”

Uber Health is a solution offered by Uber to healthcare organizations of any size. Dan Trigub, Head of Uber Health, had this to say about today’s announcement:

“Every year, an estimated 3.6 million Americans miss their medical appointments due to a lack of reliable transportation.”

Missed medical appointments can mean that a medical issue that was minor can later develop into something major, thus costing far more to treat and cure. Insurance companies can also expect that small issues will be handled promptly. Combined, this means a lower cost of care for everyone.

An account with Uber is not required to use the service as patients can use the Solve.Care app to schedule a pickup to and from the medical appointment. Solve.Care is planning to release support for Uber by Q2 of this year.
